A member of the militia who, with intent to deceive, signs a false record, return, regulation, order, or other official document made in the line of duty, knowing it to be false, or makes a false official statement in the line of duty, knowing it to be false, may be punished by up to one year of confinement, by separation with characterization up to dishonorable discharge, and by such other punishment as a court-martial may direct.
